Core Strength Martial Arts prides itself on being a family owned and operated Taekwondo & Martial Arts training facility. What does that mean for your student? It means only the BEST training and expertise. All of our Instructors have been trained from White Belt under the same roof. We don't bring in Instructors from other Academies. All of the Black Belt Instructors at CSMA have been trained thru Black Belt 1st Degree, and have also had to attend and graduate from a 6 month Instructor Training Program. That translates to an expertise and teaching quality unlike any other! Experience the difference!

Senior Master Michael C. Wykoff holds a 6th Degree Black Belt in traditional (WT) Taekwondo as well as Black Belts in other styles. Michael believes that the best way to teach martial arts is to create an atmosphere of trust and compassion, while also fostering discipline and a strong skill set in his students. An Arizona native, Michael has trained out in the valley his whole life, and is one of the youngest school owners in Arizona.
Master Zachary Peel holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in traditional (WT) Taekwondo. He was also the 2018 National Sparring Champion (out of 16,000 competitors). Mr. Peel has been training at Core Strength for 13 years and is the first natural (from White Belt to Black Belt) Master at Core Strength. He serves as a shining example to all students of what hard work and dedication can accomplish!
While having a strong Master's Team is important to provide top notch training to persevering students, it is equally important to have Instructors in the same age category that provide a "peer goal" for students to reach. At CSMA, we offer a Black Belt Student Instructorship with students ranging from 12 years old up to 80 years old and from 1st Degree up to 3rd Degree. This offers students a chance to work with their peers and have a mentor that is close to their age.
